Introducing... Thelma

Hello, I am the Head Teacher at the Kiwi Centre. I have been working at Earlybirds for the last seven years. I started as a reliever while studying for my Diploma of Teaching in ECE. When I completed my Diploma I started working full-time. I have full Teachers Registration, and a current first aid certificate.

I am married to Ken and together we have three children and three grand-children.

I love working alongside young children watching them as they grow and develop their independence and personalities. I believe it is essential to provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating envrionment for children to learn.

 

Kiwi Centre Goals

At the Kiwi centre we support and encourage children to develop their skills and abilities through their learning and play experiences.

To assist them with this process we have set the following goals

1. Children will develop self-help skills by being encouraged to serve their own meals. They will learn to understand quantities and how to meet their own needs.
2. Children will develop the ability to wash their own hands and understand how to look after their wellbeing.
3. Children who are ready will be encouraged and supported in toilet training.
4. Children will develop the use of language skills in their daily routine.
5. Children will develop the ability to be able to dress themselves and to understand how to look after their belongings.
